DIGIWORLD REPORTS A HUGE PROFIT AFTER A YEAR OF SUBLIME BUSINESS, THE ANNUAL PROFITFIT IS TWICE HIGHER THAN THE PLAN

Thus, total 12-month net revenue reached VND 20,972 billion (+67%) and profit after tax reached VND 657 billion (+146%). The company achieved 137% of the revenue target and 219% of the annual profit plan according to the business plan – VND 15,200 billion in revenue and VND 300 billion in profit. And specifically, the business result of the 4th quarter of 2021 of the following segments:

  • Laptop & tablet computer: this segment recorded the most outstanding growth with VND 3340 billion in revenue – up 179% over the same period. This growth was thanks to the easing of social distancing measures, Digiworld could meet the congested demand in the 3th quarter of 2021 and also the large number of orders during the "Back to school" period of the 4th quarter - the season of learning-from-home trend, computers are more and more essential. By the end of 2021, this segment recorded total revenue of VND 7899 billion, reaching 158% of the annual plan.
  • Mobile phone: this is the largest revenue contributor for the 4th quarter and the whole year of 2021, specifically VND 3497 billion – an increase of 57% compared to 4th quarter of 2020. After the 3rd quarter - the low quarter for this product segment of the year and also the time when mobile phones were not essential, in the 4th quarter, Mobile Phones came back to dominate with a large amount of congested demand in the pandemic. And the huge revenue of this segment had a significant contribution from the launch of new products of brands such as Xiaomi, Apple, Huawei with the products such as Mi, Redmi 11, iPhone 13. In the 4th quarter of 2021, Xiaomi kept its 3rd place with 13% market share - up 3% over the same period and Apple achieved approximately 8.5% market share. For the whole year of 2021, this segment had a revenue of VND 9857 billion - reaching 131% of the annual plan.
  • Office equipment: the revenue in 4th quarter of 2021 of this category reached VND 992 billion, up 95% compared to 4th quarter of 2020 and up nearly 112% compared to 3rd quarter of 2021. Like other ICT products, the demand for IoT products stuck in the pandemic was met at the beginning of 4th quarter of 2021. In addition, IoT products such as Home Appliance, Smart watch of Xiaomi, Huawei and Apple have been increasingly popular, and companies also have been launching many new models at the end of the year to meet many different segments, therefore these product lines have greatly contributed to the results of the office equipment industry. At the end of fiscal year 2021, the revenue of this segment was VND 2840 billion – reaching 129.1% of the annual plan.
  • Consumer goods: this segment achieved VND 93 billion in revenue - recorded a growth of 14.8% over the same period. Because in the 4th quarter of 2021, the Covid situation cooled down, the anti-pandemic products added to this segment by Digiworld since the previous quarter have not brought the expected results. But with living with the pandemic and the fact that health becomes the top concern, Digiworld expects anti-pandemic products still have a lot of room for growth, especially after Digiworld adds new products to this segment. For the whole year of 2021, this segment recorded VND 376 billion in revenue – reaching 75.2% of the annual plan.

In general, in the 4th quarter of 2021 - the time when the distancing order was lifted, business activities returned to normal and freight transportation became easier, Digiworld was able to fulfill the huge demand of ICT products. In addition, the improvement of gross profit margin from the laptop and tablet segment in the short and medium term trend (due to high demand and limited supply) from the 2nd quarter of 2021 helped Digiworld achieve record high revenue and profit as well as impressive growth percentage.

Although the supply of goods is easier, in general, Covid still causes a lot of impacts on most segments, typically the lack of chips leads to more scarce ICT goods. But the company always upholds the spirit of turning challenges into opportunities, Digiworld has been promoting its strengths for nearly 25 years in the field of distribution as well as Digiworld always has strategies, long term visions, sticks and seriously implement the 3C strategy: Materail Facility – Human - Opportunity to be ready, quick and flexible to take full advantage of the increasingly essential advantages of ICT products.

In 2022, Digiworld will continue to actively perform the activities, continue to diversify business segments as well as constantly learn to do business in the best manner for new brands to achieve and exceed the targets of 2022.
