Nextdoor’s GenAI Assistant Expands to For Sale & Free Listings

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – August 12, 2024 — Nextdoor (NYSE: KIND), the essential neighborhood network, today announced that neighbors can now leverage generative AI (GenAI) technology to create listings in its popular For Sale & Free section. Available in the US, this extension of Nextdoor’s generative AI assistant will suggest clear, concise, listing content to sellers as they post items to sell or giveaway to their community.

Starting today, neighbors can upload up to 10 photos of their item to For Sale & Free. These will be analyzed by Nextdoor’s generative AI assistant to help craft a compelling post. The assistant provides suggested categories, titles, prices, and listing descriptions. Sellers can then choose to post the suggested listing or make edits to best promote their item.

As families now prepare for the upcoming school year, a recent survey of parents on Nextdoor revealed that nearly two-thirds plan to list on For Sale & Free to help offset the costs of school supplies and clothing. By introducing Nextdoor’s generative AI assistant to one of its most active sections, neighbors can streamline their listing process and quickly connect with potential buyers who are trusted, verified neighbors in their community to get their items sold.

“Neighbors come to Nextdoor to get things done,” Nirav Tolia, Chief Executive Officer of Nextdoor. “By integrating GenAI into our For Sale & Free section, we are enhancing one of our most active use cases, improving the experience for all neighbors.”

This latest iteration of Nextdoor’s generative AI assistant continues the company’s commitment to leveraging the latest in technology, including machine learning and AI, to drive engagement and enhance the Nextdoor experience for neighbors, public agencies, businesses and advertisers.
