Start Smart Sports sessions will take place on Saturdays from 9-10 a.m. from September 7 through October 12. The program will meet at the Dimond Park Field House September 7-28 and at Floyd Dryden Gymnasium October 5-12.

The program costs $40 plus tax and includes a Start Smart tee shirt. Scholarships are available; complete the online form to apply. If you have any scholarship questions, contact Amanda Lovejoy at (907) 586-2635 ext. 4156 or amanda.lovejoy@juneau.gov.

The Start Smart Sports program prepares children for the world of organized sports without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt. Children work with an adult in their lives to learn the basic skills of sports: kicking, dribbling, throwing, batting and agility. Adults are active participants in the program.

For more information, visit the program website, or contact Recreation Coordinator Eric Moots at eric.moots@juneau.gov or (907) 586-2635.
