Celebrate spring with Primula Day at the Jensen-Olson Arboretum
Spring is here and the Jensen-Olson Arboretum’s nationally-recognized collection of primula are in bloom. Join the Friends of Jensen-Olson Arboretum on Sunday, May 19 for a plant sale and guided garden tour to celebrate Primula Day and the Arboretum’s signature flower.
The plant sale will begin at 10 a.m. and continue throughout the day. The guided tour will begin at 11 a.m. Arboretum admission and the garden tour are both free of charge.
The Arboretum is home to more than 170 varieties of primula, commonly known as primroses. Arboretum donor Caroline Jensen’s plantings formed the foundation of a collection that is now a Nationally Recognized CollectionTM for the Genus Primula. Different varieties bloom from April throughout the frost, with many full blossoms on display beginning in early May.
The Arboretum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday during the summer. For location and access information, visit the Arboretum website.
