Full-stack observability for all engineers building on AWS

Last year, New Relic announced a strategic collaboration agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to help bring data-driven observability to millions of engineers and developers globally. Time and again, our joint customers have benefited from an approach that leverages the open, connected, and programmable capabilities of the New Relic platform—enabling them to scale their application and infrastructure operations.

Today at AWS re:Invent 2021, New Relic looks back on our past year of innovation with AWS. For AWS customers, this includes a combination of our New Relic One observability platform innovations as well as AWS purpose-built innovations to help developers and engineers working on the AWS Cloud do their work better, faster, more easily, and efficiently.

Strong momentum with AWS Partner Network

New Relic continues to invest in supporting AWS technologies that our customers depend on to achieve faster, lower-risk migrations with more compelling business outcomes. Last year, we announced an industry-first usage-based pricing model for New Relic One, which ensures that AWS customers are able to only pay for what they use, eliminating shelfware and unwelcome overages. AWS customers can choose to purchase New Relic via the AWS Marketplace, including our free tier, pay-as-you-go in the Public Marketplace, or the Private Offer Marketplace including Consulting Partner Private Offers (CPPO).

We also launched New Relic Instant Observability, an open-source ecosystem of quickstarts, integrations, dashboards, and other observability building blocks for faster productivity on the AWS Cloud. Together with AWS, we have launched 59+ quickstarts for Amazon CloudWatch Metric Streams, Amazon DocumentDB (with MongoDB compatibility), Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS), and more, so you can instrument, monitor, and analyze your AWS technology stack faster by avoiding the burden of manual setup.

Announcements that keep New Relic on the cutting edge with AWS

By combining the world’s leading observability platform with AWS cloud services, New Relic continues to help customers de-risk and accelerate their cloud migration, modernization, and workload optimization initiatives on the AWS Cloud. But we’re also committed to pushing the leading edge of innovation within the AWS community even further, simplifying observability in cloud environments, and supporting even bigger efficiency gains.

This commitment is the driving force behind a series of major announcements that touch upon every aspect of our relationship with AWS—from tools and technology to partner ecosystem engagement:

• New Relic for Startups + AWS Activate: As part of our commitment to make observability a data-driven, daily practice for every engineer, we launched New Relic for Startups on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Activate Console to help founders build faster from day 0. Now, startup founders and engineering teams on the AWS Activate Console get access to exclusive discounts, free credits, and support for the New Relic cloud-based observability platform. 
• New Relic for Amazon EKS on AWS Fargate: Serverless computing has gained recent traction because of its advantages for software engineering teams, such as fewer costs, no maintenance, increased productivity, and reduced time to market. To support that trend, we collaborated with AWS to enable engineers to monitor Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Services (EKS) containers from New Relic One when they use Fargate for serverless deployment. 
• Pixie on EKS: When we acquired Pixie Labs in December 2020, we were enthralled by the instant visibility this platform delivers for cloud-native applications without code changes. To bring Pixie to the wider developer community, we contributed the entire project to the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) in May 2021. We then extended our collaboration with AWS to provide Pixie on AWS. Get started today with Pixie on Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS).
• New Relic accelerator solutions for AWS: These solutions include integrations, guidance, workshops, and how-to information that empower AWS customers to speed the success of their cloud transformation. Current accelerators include DevOps, Amazon EKS, AWS Lambda, cloud cost optimization, AWS Control Tower integration, and Salesforce with New Relic.
• Additions to the AWS Service Ready Program: AWS Service Ready software products are recommended by AWS for their sound architectures and adherence to AWS best practices. Customers can choose these offerings knowing that AWS has fully vetted and recommended them. New Relic has achieved the AWS Service Ready designation for Amazon ECS Anywhere, Amazon EKS Anywhere, AWS Graviton2, and AWS Fargate on Graviton2, in addition to AWS Lambda, Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS), Amazon Linux, and AWS Outposts. 
• Expansion of AWS competencies: The AWS Competency Program identifies, validates, and promotes AWS partners with demonstrated AWS technical expertise and proven customer success. Customers can be assured that New Relic has demonstrated technical, architectural, and customer success in specialized areas including industries, use cases, and specific workload types. Digital Customer Experience (DCX) is the latest AWS competency we earned in addition to DevOps, Migration, Mobile, Containers, Government, and Retail.
