As the go-to guide for all things local, we know you are constantly searching Yelp for the answer to the eternal question “What’s good around here?” Today, we are thrilled to present our 2022 Trend Forecast, a look at the food, beauty and home trends you need to know for the year ahead.
So what will you be ordering next year? In order to predict a whole year’s worth of trends, Yelp’s data science team analyzed millions of reviews to find the words and phrases that were rising significantly between 2020 and 2021 across food and beauty. Finally, we consulted with Yelp Trend Expert Tara Lewis to zero in on what to watch for the year ahead.
To forecast our home trends for the coming year, our data science team surfaced the terms experiencing a meteoric rise in interest among consumers. They looked at the words used in searches and review mentions to pinpoint the terms experiencing the largest increase in 2021, compared to 2020. Additionally, they identified trends on the rise in the last several months. Finally, we tapped one of our favorite Yelp fans, and star of HGTV’s “The Nate & Jeremiah Home Project”, interior designer Jeremiah Brent, to offer expert insights and tips for each trend.
